Introduction
Richland-Bean Blossom Community School Corporation is committed to protecting the privacy
of our students, faculty, staff, and families. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and
share information through our websites and applications ("Platforms") used for educational
purposes.
Information We Collect:
We collect information to provide and improve our educational services, communicate with our
community, and ensure the safety and security of our Platforms. The types of information we
collect include:
Student Information:
● Name, date of birth, grade level, student ID.
● Contact information (e.g., parent/guardian email, phone number).
● Academic records (e.g., grades, attendance, test scores).
● Disciplinary records.
● Special education information (if applicable).
● Assignments, projects, and other student work.
● Photos and videos (only when necessary and with appropriate consent).
● Online activity within educational platforms (e.g., login times, pages visited, content
created).
Faculty and Staff Information:
● Name, contact information, employee ID.
● Employment records, performance evaluations.
● Professional development information.
Parent/Guardian Information:
● Name, contact information.
● Information related to student progress and communication.
Technical Information:
● IP address, browser type, device information.

How We Use Information:
We use the collected information for the following purposes:

Information Sharing:

● With Service Providers: We may share information with third-party service providers
who assist us in providing our educational services (e.g., learning management systems,
data storage providers). These providers are contractually obligated to protect the
confidentiality and security of the information.
● With Authorized School Personnel: We share information with teachers,
administrators, and other authorized school personnel as needed to provide educational
services and ensure student safety.
● With Parents/Guardians: We share student information with parents/guardians as
required by law and to facilitate communication about student progress.
● For Legal Compliance: We may disclose information when required by law or in
response to a valid legal request (e.g., subpoena, court order).
● For Safety and Security: We may share information to protect the safety and security of
our students, faculty, staff, and community.
● In Aggregated or De-identified Form: We may share aggregated or de-identified
information for research, analytics, or other purposes. This information does not identify
individual students.
Student Privacy and Parental Rights:
● FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act): We comply with FERPA, which
protects the privacy of student education records.
● COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act): We comply with COPPA, which
requires us to obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information
from children under 13.
● Parental Access and Control: Parents/guardians have the right to access and review
their child's education records and to request corrections. Parents/guardians also have
the right to consent to or refuse the collection and use of their child's personal
information.
● Student Data Security: We implement appropriate security measures to protect student
data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
Data Security:
We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect the security of the information we
collect, including:
● Using encryption and other security technologies.
● Implementing access controls and authentication procedures.
● Regularly monitoring our systems for security vulnerabilities.
● Training our staff on data privacy and security best practices.
Third-Party Links and Services:
Links included on the Corporation's webpages, websites, and apps and services that pertain to
its programs, benefits, and/or services also shall meet the above criteria and comply with State
and Federal law (e.g., copyright laws, CIPA, Section 504, ADA, and COPPA). While the
Corporation strives to provide access through its webpages, websites, and apps and services to
content provided or developed by third parties (including vendors, video-sharing websites, and
other sources of online content) that is in an accessible format, that is not always feasible. The
Corporation's administrators and staff, however, are aware of this requirement with respect to
the selection of content provided to students. The Corporation's Web Accessibility
Coordinator(s) or designees shall vet online content on its webpages, websites, and apps and
services that is related to the Corporation's programs, benefits, and/or services for compliance
with these criteria for all new content, published on the Corporation's webpages, websites, and
apps and services after adoption of this policy.
Nothing in the preceding paragraph, however, shall prevent the Corporation from including links on the Corporation's webpages, websites, and apps and services to:
a. recognized news/media outlets (e.g., local newspapers' websites, local
television stations' websites); or
b. webpages, websites, or apps and services that are developed and hosted
by outside vendors or organizations that are not part of the Corporation's
program, benefits, or services.
The Board recognizes that such third party webpages, websites, and apps and services
may contain advertisements that are not age-appropriate or consistent with the
requirements of Policy 9700.01 - Advertising, Commercial Activities, and
Sponsorships/Naming Rights, and State and Federal law.
Website Accessibility:
The Corporation is committed to providing individuals with disabilities an opportunity equal to
that of individuals without disabilities to participate in the Corporation's programs, benefits, and
services, including those delivered through electronic and information technology, except where
doing so would impose an undue burden or create a fundamental alteration. The Corporation is
further committed to ensuring individuals with disabilities are able to acquire the same
information, engage in the same interactions, and enjoy the same benefits and services within
the same timeframe as persons without a disability, with substantially equivalent ease of use;
that they are not excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or otherwise subjected to
discrimination in any Corporation programs, services, and activities delivered online, as required
by Section 504 and Title II of the ADA and their implementing regulations; and that they receive
effective communication of the Corporation's programs, services, and activities delivered online.
This policy reflects the Corporation's commitment and intention to comply with the requirements
of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, 29 U.S.C. 794, 34 C.F.R. Part 104, Title II of the
Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990, 42 U.S.C. 12131, 28 C.F.R. Part 35, in all respects.
1. Technical Standards
The Corporation shall adhere to the technical standards of compliance identified at
rbbschools.net. The Corporation measures the accessibility of online content and
functionality according to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C's) Web Content
Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA (or most current recommended level),
and the Web Accessibility Initiative - Accessible Rich Internet Applications Suite (WAI-ARIA 1.1) for web content.
2. Web Accessibility Coordinator
The Board designates its Technology Director as the Corporation's Web Accessibility
Coordinator(s). That/Those individual(s) is/are responsible for coordinating and
implementing this policy.
The Board commits to providing the Web Accessibility Coordinator with sufficient
resources and authority to coordinate and implement this policy and any corresponding
guideline(s), subject to oversight by the Superintendent and the Board.

Reporting Concerns or Possible Violations:
If a person accessing the Corporation's webpages, websites, or apps and services (e.g., a
student, prospective student, employee, guest, or visitor) ("user") believes that the Corporation
has violated the technical standards identified above in its online content, the user may contact
the Web Accessibility Coordinator with any accessibility concerns (Contact Information Below).
The user also may file a formal complaint utilizing the procedures set out in Policy 2260.01 -
Section 504/ADA Prohibition Against Discrimination Based on Disability.
Changes to the Privacy Policy:
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on our
website and notify
parents/guardians of any material changes.
