November 24, 2020

Dear EIS families,

Thank you for the grace you have extended to our EIS staff over the past couple of days.  We know this sudden change hasn’t been easy, but we are hopeful with our careful planning and the kids’ familiarity with eLearning that it has gone fairly smoothly.

Please read the rest of this email carefully as it contains details about next week’s eLearning.

  • Fifth Grade – ALL assignments will be posted on Google Classroom.  You should have received an email today from your child’s teachers.
  • Fourth Grade – All assignments will be posted on Google Classroom, but there is also a paper packet that will be available on Monday (11/30) if you need or prefer that instead.
  • Third Grade – All assignments will be posted on Google Classroom, but there is also a paper packet that will be available on Monday (11/30) if you need or prefer that instead.
  • Paper Packets 3rd & 4th – Available for pick-up in the office vestibule during normal office hours (8:00-3:30) beginning Monday 11/30.  The front door will be unlocked on Monday ONLY for late pick-up until 6:00 p.m.  Call the office if you need other arrangements to be made.  IF eLearning extends beyond 12/4, paper packets will not be an option and ALL assignments will be posted on Google Classroom only.
  • Grades – The work completed during eLearning will be assessed and put into grade books.  Paper packets will need to be turned in for attendance and grading purposes.
  • Attendance – Attendance will be taken during eLearning.  If your child is not completing assignments online or doesn’t turn in a paper packet, he or she will be counted absent during this time.

It is imperative that you continue to notify us of positive cases and close contacts pertaining to our EIS students while our building is closed.  In order for us to make informed decisions moving forward, we need to know how many of our students are impacted by COVID.  You can email your child’s teacher, Ms. Lee, Mr. Scholl or call the office.

Our thoughts are with all of our families during Thanksgiving and the following week.  We hope you are able to find some peace and rest and, most importantly, stay healthy and safe.

Take care,

Jennifer
