A: The first bell rings at 8:25 A.M. Students should be in their classrooms before the tardy bell rings at 8:40. School dismissal is at 3:15.
A: Pick-up and Drop-off for the regular school day take place in the front of the building. Students should exit the vehicle along the curb (passenger’s side) and not exit from the driver’s side. Adults should remain in the vehicles. School staff along the curb will be available to assist your child if needed.
A: Every Wednesday morning school is delayed for a half-hour to allow for Professional Development time with staff. The first bell rings at 8:55 A.M. Students should be in their classrooms before the tardy bell rings at 9:10. Buses will transport students according to this half-hour delay. (If there is a 2-hour delay due to inclement weather on a Wednesday, the Delayed Start for Professional Development will be canceled. School will start 2 hours just like it would on a regular M, T, Th, F schedule.)
A: A quick way to know is to look for the stoplight located on the RBBCSC website. Green indicates school is in session. Yellow indicates a delay, and Red indicates school is closed. When Dr. Sanders announces a school delay or closure, an automated call will go out to all “Alert” numbers in Harmony listed for your child. Delays and closures will also be announced on the district Facebook page and local tv and radio stations. Be sure to update your child’s Alert numbers in Harmony for our automated call service to receive all important information alerts.
A: Yes. Parents need to call the office to report the absence. If calling before or after school hours you will be directed to the attendance line - please leave a message. Please do not contact the teacher. Teachers will receive the message from the office.
A: Please park and walk your child into the office where your child will be given a pass to class.
A: It is always helpful to send a note to school so the teacher is aware that the student will be leaving and able to send any papers/items home with your child. When you arrive to pick up your child you will need to stop in the office to sign the child out and someone will call the classroom to have your child sent to the office. We do not want to interrupt instructional time by having parents going to the classroom.
A: Pre-arranged absence forms should be filled out in the office and approved by the principal. Students are required to make up missed assignments and may be given assignments ahead of time to complete.
A: Approximately 600 students attend Edgewood Intermediate School in grades third through fifth.
A: Depending on the overall grade level size, most classrooms average around 25 students per classroom.

A: We encourage interaction between parents and teachers, however, we discourage interrupting instructional time. You will be directed to leave a voicemail message for the teacher. Teachers will then return messages as they are able. If the message is urgent, call the office and we will contact the teacher for you. You may also e-mail your child's teacher. A: All RBB students can eat breakfast for free every school day. Lunches are $2.10 and must be paid in advance using the MySchoolBucks lunch account.
A: You will need to call the front office or contact your child’s teacher for the scheduled lunchtimes.
A: Parents/guardians are welcome to eat with their children once they have completed the background check (link here). You may bring outside food or purchase a lunch for yourself with exact change ($3.50). Parents/guardians must sign-in in the office, set a good example while in the cafeteria (no picture taking of other students, appropriate conversations, etc.), and sign-out when lunch is over.

A: There are many ways parents can become more involved in our school. The PTO meets every month to plan activities for the students and to support the teachers. Teachers also welcome parent volunteers in the classrooms and chaperones for field trips.
